International Studies Program

The International Studies major stresses a core background in aspects of world cultures, foreign language proficiency, and study abroad, as well as a broader set of elective coursework. Students wishing to pursue careers in the Foreign Service, the Peace Corps, intelligence agencies, international organizations, multinational corporations, non-governmental “think tanks” or foundations, religious organizations with international programs, and university teaching should strongly consider majoring in International Studies.

Dakota State University

Dakota Language Institute

Dakota State University offers an English as a Second Language course, and they also have an International Club.

Northern State University

Center of Excellence in Business and Entrepreneurship 

NSU offers exciting and timely educational programs to help businesses acquire the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to successfully compete in the international marketplace. Educational sessions are conducted via the Rural Development Telecommunications Network ensuring the accessibility of sessions to all participating companies. Virtual Trade Missions Program

The private sector leadership of the President's Export Council has created the Virtual Trade Mission Program for middle school, high school, and college students as part of a new communications strategy for the PEC to increase public awareness of the importance of America's export economy and the need for a bipartisan public-private strategy to meet the challenges of the global marketplace.
